The Thon Cometh.

Fellow readerly types! Our bi-annual celebration of Ignoring Everyone In Our Lives And Not Putting On Pants Approacheth! What's that, you say? You know now of what I speak? Why, it's the READATHON, silly pants!

It's where the cool kids hang. Except in their own houses. I still plan to wear a headdress.

ANYWAY! The Readathon is a 24 hour reading fest that begins Saturday, April 21st at 8 a.m. EST. Of course, this is your jam, so you can start and stop whenever you bloody well feel like it. In my experience of doing...one...in the past, my eyes start bleeding around hour 16. That is where I stop. Bleeding eyes is not a good look for me. You can sign up/ read about the readathon here.

I encourage you to have people over to THON with you. Brittney from The Souls Of Thought will be joining me at my house, along with a few non-blogger friends. There will be snacks, which is our festival's version of free shit for celebrities.

That is all! Go forth and sign up for the THON! 24 hours of ignoring your family and all other responsibilities- WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME, PEOPLE?

  4. Thinking about joining this time - for part of the day anyway. It would be my first as well, Cassandra! So it's 24 hours from 8 am (EST) on Saturday to 8 am Sunday?

  6. I've got my planned reading all set up. I've been thinking that I need to get snacks this year, but I am not sure what I want to settle on.

  7. This would be awesome, but I know it would end up being me alone in my house while all of my friends/neighbors are drinking beer and shooting the shit on the porch outside my window....tough choices.

I feel like this might work better in the winter??

  8. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to let you know that I LOVE it! I'm currently doing my own challenge (reading all books referenced in the seven seasons of Gilmore girls) and am having my own run ins with a lot of dead white guys! Keep on keepin' on, lady!

  9. Do you think I could get out of a day with my inlaws using Thon as an excuse?

  10. Argh, how am I just finding out about something as cool as this TWO days before it commences? Story of my life. Oh, my favorite band is coming to the area to perform? TOMORROW? And it's sold out? Awesome. This is like that. With books.

But I know for next year! I will be sure to clear that day of things like work and sleeping. I'm really glad I found your blog. Also, that amazing Stephanie Swag dance made me snort. Enjoy the Readathon!
